The Apple TV+ series Time Bandits, based on the 1981 film of the same name, is set to begin streaming on July 24. The series follows a group of time-traveling thieves led by Lisa Kudrow as Penelope and an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin. The creators, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, wanted the show to be different from the film and decided not to cast actors with dwarfism as the bandits, a decision that was criticized by the dwarfism community.
