Lyman Heung, a US-born, Hong Kong-raised dancer, emerged as the winner of the 2023 edition of ViuTV talent show King Maker. Heung's journey to becoming a dancer began at the age of nine when he developed a passion for performing arts. He pursued various dance styles, including ballroom, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary dance. Heung left Hong Kong to study drama and theatre in the United Kingdom and later worked as a ballroom dance instructor in New York. With the guidance of his mentors, Rosa Maria Velasco and Jay Fung Wan-him, Heung auditioned for King Maker V and ultimately won the competition [7ab99705].
Following his victory, Heung dropped out of college to focus on his dance career. He recently debuted his live dance show called "Unspoken" in Hong Kong. The show, staged at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, explores themes of death and loss through dance. "Unspoken" combines dance, dialogue, and elements of dance theatre to create a layered and expressive performance. Heung hopes to continue creating art and making the people of Hong Kong proud [7ab99705].
