The leadership of various student and youth unions, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Nigerian Youth Union (NYU), have written a letter to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to appoint Dr. Samuel Onoji as the substantive Principal of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI). The groups praised Onoji's leadership qualities, integrity, and track record of achieving goals. They also highlighted his experience as the former Director of PTI services and his publication of papers in reputable journals. The unions emphasized the importance of having a seasoned and experienced individual like Onoji to lead PTI, especially in the face of increasing competition from other training institutes. They believe that his appointment would enhance the institute's visibility in the oil and gas industry and help restore its former glory. The groups recommended that Tinubu appoint Onoji as the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of PTI, acknowledging that the confirmation process might face challenges due to government bureaucracy [16668140].
