In the VFX industry, Freefolk has announced two promotions within its ranks. Rob Sheridan has been promoted to VFX Supervisor in the Film and Episodic division, while Paul Wright has been named the company's first Chief Operating Officer (COO) [e3e99e77].
Rob Sheridan, who has been with Freefolk for the past decade, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has worked on numerous projects including Napoleon, Cursed, The Third Day, Pennyworth, Fate: The Winx Saga, Kaos, and Anansi Boys. As VFX Supervisor, Sheridan will oversee the visual effects work in the Film and Episodic division, ensuring high-quality and seamless integration of visual effects into productions [e3e99e77].
Paul Wright, who has been with Freefolk since its early days, has been appointed as the company's first COO. In this role, Wright will be responsible for overseeing the technical backbone of the business and strategic planning. Freefolk Film and Episodic, the division where Sheridan will serve as VFX Supervisor, has recently worked on the Netflix series Kaos and is currently involved in the production of Anansi Boys for Amazon Studios [e3e99e77].
Meanwhile, Picture Shop has added Senior Colourist Mitch Paulson to its global roster. Paulson's feature credits include Blade Runner 2049, Skyfall, Sicario, Jungle Cruise, Five Nights at Freddy's, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, The Bikeriders, and the upcoming film Alien: Romulus. Prior to joining Picture Shop, he was most recently at Company 3. Picture Shop President Cara Sheppard expressed delight at having Mitch join the team, praising his unique perspective, expertise in visual effects art and technology, and his trusted creative partnership with visionary filmmakers. Paulson's episodic work includes ongoing collaboration with Taylor Sheridan on acclaimed series 1923, Mayor of Kingstown, and Special Ops: Lioness. Paulson has been nominated for several HPA awards and received the HPA Award for Outstanding Colour Grading for the feature film Jungle Cruise.
