The AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre (IAC) participated in the London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2024. The event brought together top lawyers and company representatives from around the world, including the AIFC entities. The LIDW united over 100 jurisdictions, with more than 7,000 legal experts participating in 150 events. The AIFC Court and IAC have successfully resolved and enforced over 2,600 commercial cases to 100% satisfaction since their establishment on January 1, 2018. The disputes involved investors from 28 countries and all judgments were enforced within the entire territory of Kazakhstan without involvement of the national courts. The AIFC Court offers numerous opportunities for businesses within the CIS region and globally. The event allows for the exchange of ideas, valuable contacts, and cooperative efforts in the field of international law. The International Association of Language Commissioners (IALC) will hold an international conference in Cardiff, Wales, to explore the effects of legislating in favor of languages. The conference will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the IALC, with Wales being one of the founding members. The conference will feature practical sessions sharing the experience of Welsh institutions and contributions from international speakers such as Raymond Théberge, Commissioner of Official Languages, Canada, Dr Fernand de Varennes, Former UN Special Rapporteur on minority issues, and Séamas Ó Concheanainn, Ireland’s newly appointed Language Commissioner. The conference will also welcome new Canadian members into the IALC and introduce Observer Members from Guernsey and North Macedonia. Welsh Language Commissioner Efa Gruffudd Jones is the current chair of the Association. The aim of the IALC is to support and promote linguistic diversity and linguistic rights throughout the world. The conference will be held on June 11, 2024, with a launch event on June 10 and the Annual General Meeting on June 12.
