UniCredit, an Italian bank, has acquired a 9% stake in Greece's Alpha Bank from the Greek state-controlled bank bailout fund, HFSF. The shares were sold at a price of 1.39 euros each, representing a premium of 9.4% to the stock's closing price on the last trading day before the initial announcement. With this acquisition, UniCredit becomes Alpha Bank's largest investor. In addition to the stake purchase, UniCredit will also acquire most of Alpha Bank's Romanian business. UniCredit will invest 300 million euros to merge UniCredit Romania with Alpha Bank Romania, creating Romania's third-largest lender.

In other news, Delta Credit SPV, a Bulgarian company engaged in the acquisition and management of receivables, has announced the delisting of its financial instruments. Aktiva Balansiran Fond and Aktiva Vysokodohoden fond have acquired an additional stake in Delta Credit SPV. Euroins Romania Asigurare Reasigurare SA and EUROINS Insurance plc have also acquired a stake in Alfa Credit ADSIC, another Bulgarian company. Delta Credit SPV offers financial services, credit services, and insurance services.
