The recent comments by former IPS officer Amod Kanth have sparked a debate on the issue of fake encounters and extra-judicial killings by the police. Kanth firmly believes that these encounters are nothing but cold-blooded murders and should not be tolerated. He argues for a radical restructuring of the criminal justice system to ensure the protection of the vulnerable instead of serving the interests of the rich and powerful. Kanth's views on police reform and the need for a separate investigations department in every police station have gained attention.
In his latest book, 'Khakhi on Broken Wings: Police Diaries Part 2', Kanth shares stories of his encounters with notorious criminals such as mafia lord Romesh Sharma, 'Bikini Killer' Charles Sobhraj, and the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Through these narratives, he highlights the flaws and challenges within the criminal justice system and emphasizes the need for better treatment and facilities for policemen.
Kanth plans to write a book on the Harshad Mehta case, further showcasing his commitment to shedding light on significant criminal cases and advocating for justice and reform. His insights and experiences as a former IPS officer provide valuable perspectives on the flaws within the system and the urgent need for change [9aff4e04].
