The seventh International Coffee, Tea and Bakery Expo (Coffee Expo Vietnam 2023) will be held in HCM City, while over 20 international buyers are visiting Nyeri, Kenya for a coffee expo. Coffee Expo Vietnam 2023 will feature 200 booths with 250 brands from 15 countries and territories, showcasing coffee, tea, bakery products, and equipment. The expo will also include concurrent programs such as workshops and a professional barista competition. The buyers visiting Nyeri, Kenya, are from countries including the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa, the UK, the US, Germany, Singapore, and China. They will visit coffee factories in the county and have the opportunity to buy coffee directly from the factory level through the Direct Sales System. This strategy aims to remove middlemen from the coffee value chain and increase the income for buyers. The expo in Nyeri also provides a platform for farmers to interact with buyers and be involved in the value chain. Nyeri County is known for producing high-quality coffee varieties such as SL28 and SL34 Arabica. However, the county faces challenges such as high production costs and a long chain of intermediaries, which have resulted in farmers remaining poor despite the high prices their coffee fetches. The visit by the buyers follows Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's recent trip to Belgium and Germany to source coffee markets for farmers. Gachagua signed a deal with Java Coffee Company in Belgium to purchase over 700,000 kilograms of coffee from smallholder farmers, particularly women. Other recent developments in the coffee sub-sector include the return of coffee dealers to the Nairobi Coffee Exchange and the approval of the Sh4 billion Coffee Cherry Fund to support coffee farmers. The expos in HCM City and Nyeri are expected to attract about 20,000 visitors.
In addition to the international coffee expos in HCM City and Nyeri, the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo took place in Seymour, Australia. The expo attracted people who were interested in learning, interacting with, and enjoying all things farming. The event featured various activities and exhibits related to alternative farming. News journalist Djembe Archibald and photographer Rechelle Zammit from Shepparton News covered the event to capture the action.
Furthermore, RHVAC Vietnam 2024, an international exhibition on refrigeration, HVAC, cleanrooms, and high-tech factory auxiliary equipment, will take place from November 21 to 23, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. The event will showcase the latest innovations in air conditioning, heating, and cleanroom technologies, with a focus on the semiconductor, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries. The exhibition is expected to feature 150 booths and attract over 7,000 visitors, including investors, distribution businesses, service providers, professionals, engineers, and lecturers in the HVAC sectors. Major brands from Japan, South Korea, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and China will participate. The event is organized by the International Brand and Communication Joint Stock Company (IBC), INTECH Group, the Vietnam Society of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (VISRAE), and the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO) from South Korea. The HVAC sector plays a crucial role in various aspects of life, and the demand for air conditioning has surged due to global warming. Cleanrooms, which are essential in high-tech industries, have quickly become a significant trend in Vietnam. The cleanroom technology market is estimated to reach $9.37 billion by 2024 and is expected to grow to $13.21 billion by 2029. The Asia-Pacific region is considered the fastest-growing market. The participation of BEXCO and Korean exhibitors will strengthen the connection between Korean and Vietnamese technology companies. The event will also include the RHVAC Techshow 2024, showcasing innovative solutions in the HVAC sector, and the Cleanroom Technology Forum, providing insights and updates on specialized solutions. Accessing and applying new technologies in the HVAC sector is crucial for Vietnam, especially as the country aims for net-zero emissions by 2050. [74a8bd93]
