Students from Obafemi University (OAU), University of Ilorin, and Covenant University in Nigeria were recognized for their innovative blockchain projects at the DecaHack pitch event. The event, sponsored by Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) Hub Sahara and the Cryptography Development Initiative in Nigeria (CDIN), showcased 15 projects ranging from decentralized blogging platforms to AI-powered trading bots. A panel of judges selected five outstanding projects, and the students behind these projects are now eligible for a $5,000 award pending further evaluation of their applications. In another competition, Noluthando Kolomba, a second-year student at IIE-Vega in Bordeaux, won a R1,000 Takealot voucher in the My Time at IIE-Vega competition. The competition required students to submit a one-minute creative video reflecting their student experience at IIE-Vega. Kolomba's video focused on her personal and academic journey at the school, highlighting her growth, achievements, and support from the school community. The competition celebrated the essence of student life, lifelong friendships, and pivotal moments in students' tertiary journey.
