Bermuda is Love, a community organization in Bermuda, is organizing a series of events under the hashtag #FightForJustice to promote legal aid and access to justice. The events aim to provide individuals with the means to seek legal assistance and support, while advocating for equality, fairness, and the protection of human rights.
The first event is a free legal advice clinic, which will take place on Saturday, April 20 at the Sammy Wilson Community Centre. This clinic will offer individuals the opportunity to receive legal guidance and advice from professionals.
On Thursday, April 25, there will be a talk on human rights in Bermuda at the Human Rights Commission. This event will provide insights into the current state of human rights in Bermuda and discuss ways to improve and protect these rights.
A Tree of Life Workshop will be held on Sunday, April 28 at the Sammy Wilson Community Centre. This workshop aims to create a safe space for individuals to explore their personal experiences and promote healing and resilience.
On Tuesday, April 30, there will be a community discussion on education reform at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce. This event will provide an opportunity for community members to voice their opinions and ideas on improving the education system in Bermuda.
Lastly, a legal aid workshop will be held on Saturday, May 4 at the Women's Resource Centre. This workshop will provide information and resources on accessing legal aid and support.
All of these events are free to attend and are part of Bermuda is Love's efforts to empower individuals and promote a fair and just society.
In addition to the events organized by Bermuda is Love, CrowdJustice, a crowdfunding platform for legal action, is supporting various ongoing cases. These cases include efforts to stop industrial development on Crossness Nature Reserve, protect migrant women victim-survivors of domestic violence, and save the Pinner Road wildlife.
Furthermore, a new case will be launching on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 5 p.m. This case will address a specific legal issue and seek support from the community through the CrowdJustice platform.
