A 25-year-old registered sex offender named Willie Shaw was arrested in Lafayette County, Mississippi for failing to register his address. The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip on May 14, leading them to conduct a compliance check at Shaw's registered address. Following the check, Shaw was charged and subsequently arrested on May 23 in Batesville by the Batesville Police Department. He was then transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and issued a $25,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court Judge [5698a98a].
In a separate incident, Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Monroe man last week after he was accused of robbing another man at gunpoint. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly committed the armed robbery. The arrest was made in Monroe, Louisiana, and the suspect is currently in custody [b75bcde7].
