Kenya has announced that all its nationals in Israel have been accounted for and are safe, despite the ongoing rocket battles between Israeli forces and the Hamas militant group in Gaza. Roseline Njogu, the Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, stated that no Kenyan living or working in Israel has been injured. The Kenyan government has also set up distress call lines to provide assistance if needed.

The accident occurred while he was traveling from the North West province to Gauteng. The car the Minister was in, along with two guards, collided with another vehicle.
