In a significant step towards achieving zero vehicular emissions and driving the development and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has launched the Research Centre for Electric Vehicles (RCEV). Led by Prof. C.C. Chan, the RCEV aims to address energy and technical challenges in modern EVs and foster industry-university-research collaboration [d1ca929e].
The launch ceremony of the RCEV was attended by approximately 350 staff and students, as well as leaders from government, innovation and technology, energy, and academic sectors. During the event, memorandums of understanding were signed between the RCEV and China Power International Development Limited and Wisdom Motor (HK) Limited, with the aim of contributing to the development of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone.
