The Rialto Theater in Canton has announced a partnership with Fathom Events, an entertainment content provider that broadcasts special event movie showings and performing arts and music concerts to its associated theaters. The Rialto has been working to expand its portfolio of options for viewers in the Canton and Troy areas, and the partnership with Fathom will bring new opportunities to watch classic movies at the historic theater [f8ae7c7a].
The Rialto will continue to offer its own showings, such as anticipated openings of movies like Kung Fu Panda 4 and Ordinary Angels, and the Fathom movies will supplement those offerings. The first Fathom Event show at the Rialto will be a special showing of the 1986 film The Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Other shows coming via the Fathom contract include independent film Forty-Seven Days With Jesus and special 85th anniversary showings of Gone With The Wind [f8ae7c7a].
In addition to classic movies, the Rialto Theater is dedicated to hosting community events. They recently held a showing of the new Mean Girls movie as part of a Gal's Night Out event, featuring wine slushies for sale and a basket raffle [f8ae7c7a].
