President Bola Tinubu has approved the naming of the arterial road N20 from Northern Parkway in Jahi District, Abuja after Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. The ratification was given at the commissioning of the road after the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, requested for Soyinka to be honored while he was still alive. The completion of the strategic project with its underground system of wastewater duct and fiber optic and many other facilities was also mentioned. The contract for the Wole Soyinka Way was awarded in 2020, at the cost of N30.6 billion and completed in four years without variation. Tinubu directed Edun to come up with cost implications for the new wage in 48 hours. Tinubu also directed free train rides for commuters on the Abuja Metro Line service until the end of 2024. Tinubu believes Nigeria can achieve more when leaders shelve partisan politics and personal interests. Tinubu presented a stabilization plan to bolster economic reforms and support businesses. The CBN has no plans to revoke additional banking licenses. Tinubu praised the FCT Minister and his team for their successful first year. Tinubu expressed joy and pride in Wike's performance. Wike stated that with the work done in the FCT under the Tinubu administration, it would be difficult for anyone to challenge the president in the FCT. [ef84d1a8]
