Joseph Baker, a chemistry professor at TCNJ, has been named the fourth recipient of the Barbara Meyers Pelson '59 Chair in Faculty-Student Engagement. Baker intends to engage and educate the campus community in data literacy, computation, and artificial intelligence. He plans to build on the recent TCNJ Artificial Intelligence Task Force report, which recommended developing AI/computational literacy support for students, faculty, staff, and administration. Baker will establish learning communities and invite external workshop leaders and speakers to provide their perspectives on integrating data literacy, computation, and AI across the undergraduate curriculum. Farmingdale State College, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is introducing a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management Program. This online program, the first of its kind in the SUNY system, is specifically designed for transfer students with an associate degree in business or computer science. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) is also launching a new online program on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The six-week program is designed for working professionals and aims to provide a basic understanding of AI and its potential benefits. The program consists of four modules: Foundations of AI, AI Applications in Business, Ethical & Social Impact, and AI Implementation. Students will earn a certificate upon completion of the course. Vanderbilt University has announced plans to establish a new college dedicated to computer science, AI, data science, and related fields. The College of Connected Computing will collaborate with all of Vanderbilt's schools and colleges to advance breakthrough discoveries and strengthen computing education. The new college will be led by a new dean, with the search scheduled to begin in late August. It will be the first new college at Vanderbilt since the university and the Blair School of Music merged in 1981. Afe Babalola, the Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has been appointed the pioneer Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the National Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners (NAAIP).
