Public hospitals in Thailand are preparing for an increase in respiratory problems due to rising air pollution levels [9b9e1d12]. The Ministry of Public Health issued a directive in response to a surge in ultra-fine PM2.5 particle levels in several areas of Bangkok, where concentrations exceeded 37.5 microgrammes per cubic meter. The affected provinces include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Udon Thani, and Sakon Nakhon. The Ministry of Public Health has asked hospitals to expedite the implementation of telemedicine services to assist vulnerable individuals, including children, pregnant women, senior citizens, people with chronic health conditions, and outdoor workers. The ministry has also established Public Health Emergency Operations Centers in Phitsanulok, Nonthaburi, Sing Buri, and Samut Sakhon to improve access to healthcare services [9b9e1d12].
