Tesla's Model Y has been ranked as the most American vehicle for the third consecutive year in the 2024 American-Made Index by Cars.com. However, foreign brands have made significant gains in the index, with six of the top 10 vehicles and 15 of the top 20 being from foreign brands. The Honda Passport and Volkswagen ID.4 secured the second and third spots, respectively. Honda's Odyssey and Ridgeline came in at No. 5 and No. 6. Toyota Camry and Jeep Gladiator jumped 19 spots to land at No. 7 and No. 8. The Lexus TX entered the index at No. 10. Over half of the vehicles on the list were assembled in the South, with Alabama having the most vehicles produced. General Motors (GM) has the most representation on the index with 18 vehicles, while Ford has 12. The share of electrified vehicles has grown 130% since 2020.
