The conference aims to promote the blue economy within the context of maritime development and will address topics such as maritime safety and security, climate change actions, technological advancements, sustainable exploitation of blue economy resources, women in the maritime sector, fishing industry and climate action policy, artificial intelligence in maritime practices, renewable energy solutions for maritime transportation, and more. The keynote speakers for the event will be the Deputy Minister for Transport, Tanzania, Mr. David Mwakiposa Kihenzile, and Dr. Paul Ikongshul Adalikwu, Secretary-General, Maritime Organisation of West and Central Africa (MOWCA). The collaboration between RMU and DMI was established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in February, covering areas of research, staff capacity building, and the organization of conferences and seminars.
