The 1000th protest of the Saturday Mothers Initiative will take place in Istanbul this week. The protests have been repeatedly attacked and banned by the Turkish government. The participation in the 1000th sit-in has been limited to ten people and will take place behind police barriers, which has been criticized by the relatives of the disappeared. They want all the relatives of the disappeared to be able to meet in Galatasaray Square and bring pictures of their missing loved ones.
