A group of monks from the Tashi Kyil Monastery in India have purchased the Tibetan Center in the town of Kingston, NY. The center, which promotes Tibetan culture, has been sold to the monastery. There are no plans for the monks to take over the operation of a thrift store also run by the Tibetan Charities. The monks have been touring America since 2011, creating sand mandalas and giving lectures on Tibetan culture and Buddhism. A ceremony will be held, starting with prayers and a talk by the Abbot of Tashi Kyil monastery, followed by a lunch buffet. [ffa8f557]
