The service is available to residents of Hong Kong China, Macau China, Taiwan China, and foreign tourists with valid passports who stay in mainland China for no more than 183 consecutive days and depart from any international airport in Shanghai within 17 days of purchase. To apply for a tax refund, tourists need to present a valid passport or identification documents, complete the refund application form, and submit it along with the original VAT invoice at the "Buy & Tax Refund" counter on B2/F of Plaza 66. The service is available for purchases of a minimum of RMB 500 eligible for tax refund. Luxury brands such as ALAIA, BABY DIOR, BALENCIAGA, and VALENTINO are included in the list of TFS stores at Plaza 66. The tax refund process requires presenting a valid pre-authorized credit card, confirming the actual tax refund amount, completing the necessary forms, and departing from any Shanghai international airport within 17 days. Customers must carry the unused or unpacked goods for Customs verification upon departure from China.
